Poetry by Anna Cates

“Ode to the Rabbit” (a triolet)
             By Anna Cates

How sorely we have used you
In our sordid magic show—
Draize eye test—Draconian thumbscrew!
How sorely we have used you.
Draculean, our twisted taboos—
Unnatural, our chemical glow—
How sorely we have used you
In our sordid magic show.
