“Fur”
             By Juliet Driscoll

Please do not go buy a fur,
This I plead, I must confer,
Be it for him or be it for her,
Please do not go buy a fur,

If you decide to wear that fur,
To take that bloodied hand transfer,
A darkened soul you shall concur,
So please do not go buy that fur!

As beauty to the eye does stir,
Those coats are best left as they were,
You beast! You nature’s saboteur!
Please do not go buy that fur!

“Elephants”
             By Juliet Driscoll

The biggest creature soft yet brave,
Is in decline, so let us save,
African and Indian too,
They’re in trouble, what can we do?

Hunted for that glorious tusk,
Poached and killed from dawn till dusk,
Ivory glints at me and you,
They’re in trouble, what can we do?

We live in a commercial time,
And lots of things are in decline,
Their habitat and number, too,
They’re in trouble, what can we do?

Should we enforce much harsher laws?
Invest more money to the cause?
Education worldwide through?
They’re in trouble, what can we do?

Always questions, no solution,
Commercial greed and pollution,
It seems to be the world right through,
They’re in trouble, what can we do?
